Broken Lance - Play test part 1

Broken Lance - Full set test

Play testing this thing is a b!&%#. I can’t get over how time consuming and aggravating it is to go through initial testing on my own. I keep overlooking one important thing; what seems to work on paper won’t always work in practice. Theory vs. Practicality — Oh how you’ve kept me grounded all throughout high school.

Here are some preliminary images of the first ever run through of Broken Lance with player table and mock cards.

I realized that in 3 rounds, one player can burn through the 25 game cards. There are a set stock of each type so there will also be a discard pile that shouldn't be reshuffled back into the deck.

Another fault was the original idea behind the STRK point system. I figured out a fix and for the most part it’s working great. The DEXT point system works exactly the way I envisioned it. The card functions themselves are working out nicely. So are the Knight cards created. So far pretty balanced. I’m still missing the war horse stats and functions and some other game card functions as well. I will need to boost a deck to possibly 30 cards. Going to play the last tilt of this game. So far, the computer is beating me 4 -1. And by computer, I mean the other version of myself.
