Casual Games and Action Play

Ivan the Hun from Get Blue! the game

Hey all,
One of the reasons I'm a board game enthusiast is because gaming gives me a chance for some authentic human interaction.

Over the last several years, I've noticed that my time availability to play board games has steadily decreased. Sure I'm older and busier and have more responsibilities, but I also recognize that the increase of technology has something to do with it too. As a board game enthusiast one of the main reasons I play is to put down the electronics and connect with family and friends without the filter of technology. So about three years ago I began developing a game that hit on several elements that I wanted to find in a game.

I wanted to create a game that could be played in 20 minutes or less. (Something to satisfy my gaming "jones" without a huge time commitment.)

I wanted to develop a game that was simple and intuitive but had a rewarding learning curve (you got better at it quickly but it is difficult to master)

I wanted to create a game that was portable and collectible. A game that could be played anywhere and that had a value after the game play session ended.

I wanted magnets. As magnets increasingly vanish from the play landscape I feel it's important to have a fun and safe magnetic play experience that we can pass onto our kids.

The result, was Get Blue! with Magno-Force Battle Action. I currently have a Kickstarter campaign running now. So if you believe that casual games, and magnets or kinetic, action play has a place in the play landscape then please visit the campaign, pledge your support and pace this along to your friends today. Please visit getbluegame.com/kickstarter to see what Get Blue! is all about!

Thanks, Steve "Bono" Hart
