Interview with Dustin Oakley: Bulk Order Fulfillment at TGC

Dustin Oakley successfully funded his Zooligans Card Game on Kickstarter in June. (Due to legal reasons the game name changed to Zoodlums after it was funded.) Dustin used The Game Crafter’s Bulk Order Fulfillment (BOF) service and you can read about his experience in the interview below.

Why did you decide to use The Game Crafter’s Bulk Order Fulfillment (BOF) service for your Kickstarter project?

There were basically two options for fulfilling my Kickstarter game, Zoodlums. I could either have the cards and boxes printed, assemble the games, and pack, address, and ship them all myself, or I could download a spreadsheet, fill it in, upload it, and press a button. The former way was a bit cheaper, but the latter way (using The Game Crafter) was infinitely faster, easier, and less painful. As two added bonuses, TGC shrink-wrapped the games, which I don’t know how I would have done myself, and they handled customer service. In short, I chose TGC because I value my time.

What was the biggest benefit of using BOF at The Game Crafter?

If I had to choose one of the above benefits, I would choose ease. With TGC’s BOF you are literally able to process your game in an hour or less. And the games are printed and shipped within a week or two without you lifting a finger.
How have your customers responded in terms of product quality, customer service, and shipping times?
Here are a few quotes: “Received my copy today, everything looks great!”, “Got the game today and eagerly ripped it open! The verdict? It looks terrific!”, “WOOHOO! It came in today and it’s a beauty!”, “it’s my first ever received Kickstarter! Yay!”

As far as customer service, two of the games had a few cards swapped (accidents happen). When the backers contacted me I posted a message to TGC. Within a day they had put a whole new set of cards into the queue for the customer, no questions asked. In a few days, the customers had their perfect new copies. And all at no cost to them or me!
