Intro

Where I introduce myself and th project floating in my head.

Hi all, My name is Haxxx5 and I long to design something. That particular something is one of 4 projects floating in my head since the age of 13. I am now 21 and those project simmered long enough.

First was the very early (working title) 'Wilderness Castle'. A single player pan and paper dungeon crawl. It centered on various challenges that involved comparing stats. It was a nice pastime to design but not really "A Game" per-say.

Next was 'Cross World', an epic Heroes of Might and Magic inspired adventure game. You are a general trying to forge a new empire for yourself by recruiting various units that spawn randomly and by building settlements. This is right now under developmental.

Recalling my 'Cross world' game several years later, I extracted the combat aspects of it and it spawned a new game: 'Heroes of the Crimean'. A steampuunk-themed card based miniature game with an upgrade mechanic. This one I almost nailed all the mechanics but I need to actually calculate the variables on the units and cards.

The last one, was when I heard Tom Vasle thought Fluxx was hateful. I tried to think of a theme an a game where the changing rules and goals of Fluxx would make sense. My answer was 'F.E.A.R', a take-that game themed in a totalitarian regime that is in constant revolution. This one is also "Main Mechanics" done, but I need to fine tune it and come up with the numbers.

On later posts I will detail each one individually. Any comments or ideas will greatly help.

A little chaos goes a long way. The thing about Fluxx is you have little control which is actually better than having enough control that you can feel like you are in control just to find out that you are thwarted easily. The theme sounds good, now find the point of balance that will be both fun and engaging.

Your title F.E.A.R.

I am not sure if you play video games, but on the Playstation 2 game console there is a game called F.E.A.R. You can still use your game mechanic, but I thought I would let you know about the same name and abbreviations. Sorry about the double post.
