Magic Maestrom and me

I have had a varied career, managing games shops in the early 1980’s Then a freelance sculptor with design business. Then on to a career in an earth science organisation doing graphics, mapping, science and information management. I have played games since I was a youngster. The Magic Maelstrom Boardgame is all about Scotland, Scandinavia, Picts, Scots, Vikings and their various mythologies, plus a Maelstrom, oh, and beasties...some of which are not very timorous. On BGG: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/128991/magic-maelstrom

Magic Maelstrom Update + Use of the game-icons.net resource

Latest update now on the blog ant thoughts from BGDF-ers?

http://bit.ly/1isBEZ2

Key things:
Defender Tokens become Encounter Cards

Asymmetrical Faction abilites, including a new link between Faction colour and board areas (+1 Mana for areas of your Faction colour), to make the colour use more sensible.

Using Icons and not text as much as possible for cleaner design and easier understandability.

Characters are now standard units with a matching 'meeple' and not unique cards / tokens (they become the MM Characters expansion pack).

This means that all units are now wooden pieces except the Fate Card Beasties, which remain tokens, soon to be stand-up guys, sorry, couldn't resist despite it being the wrong theme...
