Pocket Rugby edges closer to the try line

I've had a bunch of requests for us to make a Rugby League game.....it's the most popular sport in this area and has a huge following in Queensland. I've been tinkering around with an idea for some months but had troubles figuring out gaining meters on the field.

It wasn't until last week it dawned on me not to worry about all the intricacies that Rugby League entails, and keep the game simple and fun with plenty of chances to score points.

So I've got a working beta game that allows players to be on their attacking phase of 6 tackles, while not worrying about where they are on the field exactly. They are basically running head on at the line, with the chance they'll break the line, or the defense will crumble. You'll need to know how Rugby League is played to enjoy this game.

As with our other Pocket games, we want it to flow quickly with a short learning curve. There is some decision making on when /if to take a drop goal attempt and a push you luck component on deciding to take a penalty kick, or run the football.

I'm sticking with 8 dice to stay inline without other games, however, I did have 9 to start with. By combining one one with two options on each face, used at different times, it's saved space, weight and production cost.

Anyway..if anyone know what the State of Origin is....I ran through a 10min half and NSW edged out QLD with a field goal at the end of half to lead 17-16
