Rulebook Tip

One thing that at least some who frequent the BGDF site from time to time might find useful is some software that will allow you to combine multiple PDF files into a single PDF file. Someone on the old BGDF site had, in fact, asked about just such a type of software, and I thought that it would be useful to share a solution that I know about for just such an issue.

The software is called PDF995Edit, and it can be downloaded for free from the following website:

http://www.pdf995.com/

It is free, and you have to download and install several different files, but once you do, it works like a charm. I can see it being useful for something such as piecing together a rulebook, or for grouping together charts for a game.

Combining PDFs

A similar app for Mac OSX can be found here:

Try Apple Preview

Apple's Preview app, that comes with Mac OS X, allows re-ordering pages within a PDF document and moving pages between PDF documents. Open the drawer and select the Thumbnail view to see page images. Then drag a page thumbnail to wherever else you want it, either within the thumbnails of the same document, or a different document in a different window.
