Where Reluctant Pirates Bury Their Treasure

Tonight, I ended up over on the ReluctantPirateGames blog site, after finding it while not looking for it. After browsing it for a bit, I heartily recommend it.

My first encounter with it was a Terra Neo encounter. The "good news and the better news," the blog headline proclaimed (though worded a bit differently). To be honest, it was those big hex tile looking things that caught my eye. Yet, it was the blog, itself, that ultimately impressed me the most.

I did try to download the rulebook for Terra Neo from TheGameCrafter.Com website, but then the thing that I downloaded, I didn't know what kind of document that it was. It turned out to be a PDF document, but for some reason, my system didn't immediately recognize it as a PDF file. By trial and error, I learned its format.

Not that it ultimately matters.

I haven't read every entry on the ReluctantPirateGames blog site - nor even the majority of them. But, it is blogs like these that I am invariably attracted to. I like the way that a given individual's game history and development is documents and archived in blog format. This, my friend, is the equivalent of gold, from an interest-generating perspective.

The photos are the eye candy on this blog. I browsed through photos of various games that this reluctant pirate has labored on. The games, themselves, do not hold major appeal for me, as far as tempting me to want to play them. My gaming interests simply lie elsewhere. However, I very much enjoy the variety that his postings about these game endeavors and undertakings provide.

My wife and my son are in bed, and so during moments of solitude spent browsing the Internet, it's always a plus to encounter sites like this. In a nutshell, it's simply interesting.

Don't take my word for it, though - check it out for yourself.
