board game derivative of 8x8 chess board design.

Would anyone care to comment on how many "new" so called board game ideas/designs have been dropped infront of potential publishers that are fundamentally derivative in design and more or less a variant on chess. In particular despite pieces
having didifferent values or so-on. The board is the familiar 8x8 squares and pieces move and take others in different manor.

Cat Playing Cards (Poker)

Hi, all. Long time since I've been on here. Still work on board game designs when I can, but in the meantime, I created a deck of cat-themed poker cards. For a few pictures and information on ordering them, go here

Kingdoms of Immacus: Game Overview, Races, and Card Types

Kingdoms of Immacus is an empire-building strategy card game that can be played with two or more players. Players will be able to build their empires with personalized decks (minimum 50 cards) that are only limited by the player’s imagination and a building sideboard of 15 cards known as the Blueprint Pile. Players take turns placing various cards down that will help them destroy their opponent’s kingdoms. To win the game, players must accumulate 15 Dominance Tokens from the five methods of accumulation: Brutality, Ingenuity, Sovereignty, Calamity, and Expandability.

Elemental: Schools of Magic = Polyhedral dice

Well it's been a WHILE since I have blogged about "Elemental: Schools of Magic" (Elemental). I guess not much has been happening with the game. Until today. :)

I have been "feeling" the URGE to use POLYHEDRAL dice in a project of mine.

And I had been considered the GO "pawns" to be used in Elemental. But I thought, what if instead we could use POLYHEDRAL dice???

So we have FIVE (5) Magicians and works well with the different POLYHEDRAL dice as follows:

  • Illusionist = d4
  • Enchanter = d6
  • Conjurer = d8
  • Sorcerer = d10

Card Type Highlight: Follower

Crystalynn.jpg

I've started this blog a little backwards, putting the cart before the horse so to speak. So I wanted to start off this week with a highlight of one of my card types: the follower. The follower is the primary unit card in your arsenal. It can attack, use abilities, and power up. let's take a closer look at what makes the follower card unique.

In reference to attached "Follower Card Explanation" file:

1. This is the follower icon. Any card that has this icon is considered a follower. It is affected by follower-specific spells and abilities.

Kingdoms of Immacus: Card Game Progress Report 2/28/16-3/5/16

Every week I will try to do a Kingdoms of Immacus progress blog post as long as there is new information to talk about. Since this is the first progress blog post, I’ll talk about a little bit of everything. As of March 7th 2016, I am working with the fifth iteration of the game. Since the core set is relatively large, I have decided to take a different route of playtesting and correcting the set. When I finish each individual race, I do a playtest, analyze the problems, and then make corrections in the following race.

Kingdoms of Immacus: Entering the Fray of a Non-collectable Card Game

I am now far along in the development process of my card game Kingdoms of Immacus to talk about it a little bit. First I’ll go into some history on the game. Kingdoms of Immacus was once a board game concept I was working on based on characters I had developed back in high school around 1999. Like a minority of young awkward teens, I spent much of my time alone and kept my mind busy making various board games or remixes of current games. I was fortunate enough to have a brother and three sisters to playtest with (even though we didn’t know that’s what we were doing).

INTRODUCTION

Print at Home Chip Shop is Released!

Chip Shop has been a labour of love for me over the past two years. It has been through many changes and revisions and isn't yet 100%, but I have always needed to get something live before it becomes a never ending process of 'polishing'.

After several play test sessions, I consider the game 'ready enough' to put up for sale and available to the public.
