Rolling in Clover - Press-your-luck dice game

Rolling in Clover

This game includes these rules, 11 dice, and a cup to hold them in. You’ll need a pen and paper to keep score. Two or more can play. The first player is the one who is wearing the finest wool garment, or the one who won the last game.

Grazing the Fields

On your turn, shake the cup, take five dice from it without looking, and roll them. Each one is a field full of grass, clover, and sheep.

TradeWorlds: The "Beefy, Little" Box

I just received the latest prototype from Print & Play Games (An AdMagic Company) ... and the box came with a "surprise": a medium sized 8" x 8" box...

This box is slightly smaller than our product (which is 10" x 10") but never the less, once all the components and cards have been placed in the "little" box (I say little because it looks a bit "small-ish" in stature).

But don't be fooled... The box with all the content is VERY "Beefy" (I say that because the box is pretty "heavy" ... more than I expected from 520 cards and some dice + tokens).

Timing Plays and the Games’ End State

I didn't like a lot of the ways other football games dealt with how to time the game, but I found one in the early 80s called Football Fever that I thought did it right. Every play had a time counter on it, and there was a time track to track the time in a quarter. It was just a linear track with a peg that would start at 15 and the offensive player would move the peg down the track according to how much time the play said to take off the clock. If you want short games you can play 2, 5, 10, etc... min quarters.

Playtesting and Learning Some Lessons

Well, hello there, fellow designers!

I'm back again with an update on what I've been doing for my game these past couple of weeks.

Do forgive my tardiness in writing a post. With all the work I've been doing and trying to get myself and my family over a bout of Bronchitis (thanks, hubby!), but don't worry, I haven't been sitting on my hands. I have been working hard!

On my blog post on my website, I have written out specific questions/answers I received from my last playtest, on the 4th of July. I've also added some preliminary concept art on there as well.
