This month's GDS Challenge should launch this coming Thursday. My work is once again rearing its ugly head and consuming nearly all of my time. So, I'm wondering if anyone else would like to host in my stead this time around.

I can do it (in a limited fashion) if no one else is available ... but if anyone would like to carry the torch for a bit, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
-Bryk

Sorry, can't help, owing to the fact that I'm off to Essen in the morning... :-))

Sorry, can't help either. I'll be using up most of my spare time trying to get the rules for my Hippodice entry done on time. It doesn't help that my computer at home has crashed on me, either.

Btw, I'll be in Essen on Saturday (it's just a 2 and a half hours drive from here).

Do you have a link to this year's Hippodice entry rules (English please ;p)?

I can do the GDS this time; as I mentioned, I had an idea for a theme a while back that I think will be interesting, to me at least; it will be interesting to see what people come up with.

My DSL service begins on Thursday, so that is well-timed; posting all those different entries over dial up would have been time-consuming!

How the heck does Hippodice keep sneaking up on us like this?

The deadline has been the same for years. Moreover, I posted a reminder a two weeks back: http://www.bgdf.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=526&start=150

But yeah, it's short notice.

Damn! Since it's the same every year, perhaps we (the site admins) need to do a better job of letting people know of the upcoming deadline and hype it appropriately.

Ah yes, it should have been a news item... Could you put up something now? Better late than never, I suppose...

Great ... I'll PM you the URL for the step-by-step info/reminder list.

We'll put Hippodice in the calendar of the wiki version of the site, so it comes up automatically, hopefully reminding us to find and correct the link to the new year's rules. We can also program it as a news item/article, I think.
