BGDF Suggestions

I just thought of a few possible new forum sections that I figured I'd pass along.

1) Commercial Design Competitions: This would be a single place where people could go to look for competitions like our SiegeStones design competition, z-man games monster game request, and others

2) Artists, Writers, Printers: I get a lot of solicitations from artists, writers, and printers. I point them all to bgdf, but it would be nice if they had a place to post "hire me!" notes. It seems to me that this would also be of great use to the designers at bgdf. I suppose these should be separated into one section for each.

3) Designers: Similar to Artists & Writers, this would give bgdf'ers a place to say "hire me" and list their credits?

4) Awards: Let's crow a little! We've got a lot of great game designers here. Z-man games, for example, just won big time at Origins. How about a place where people can strut?

Just some friendly suggestions, with no criticism intended. I really enjoy bgdf, and thought I'd pass along these ideas.

I agree wholeheartedly, but most of all with the artists information. As I find myself trying to decide how to handle art for an upcoming project, having more information available from artists looking for work would be helpful -- they could link to their online portfolios, and with contact info, it would greatly facilitate finding talented folks!

hmmmm.. something that might help out is a search tool in the Member's list so somebody could search for a name as well scanning through the alphabetical listing or being able to search by specialities (Artist, Writers, Designers, Playtesters, and so on...)

The above ideas are good, it also might be nice to have a standard place to post your game design resume so you’re not only listing your skills but what experience you have. Not sure how this could be best implemented, as long as its searchable I think it would serve a useful purpose to those looking for workers.
