Hi, I am trying desperately to get a hold of the business addresses of a number of UK board games manufacturers - but so far I am having little luck using the web to achieve this goal.

After doing some in store research the top UK games manufacturers appear to be as follows:

Chad Valley,

MB Games,

Tomy,

Waddingtons,

Parker,

Hilco,

Matel.

Unfortunately finding the business addresses of these companies has proved to be a much more difficult task than I originally envisaged.

Can anyone here possibly help?

Have you tried companies house... http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/

Without having looked try typing their company name and see if that is their registered name. Their registered address should then come up too. It's past midnight for me right now and apparently companies house are closed even online for me to do a check for you!

The toy fair is coming up next week. Why not have a look at this list http://www.britishtoyfair.co.uk/files/

Hope this helps.

The answer to your question is Google. Most of the information you want is on the relevant company's website under "contact us"; the rest can be found by typing the name of the company (two 't's in 'Mattel') and 'uk' into a decent search engine, and clicking around. This is not hard.

For free you get this:
Chad Valley is a trading name owned by the Woolworths Group PLC in the UK.

Waddingtons, MB and Parker are all brands owned by Hasbro. Their contact details in the UK are at http://www.hasbro.co.uk/index.asp?page=25

Companies House will give you the registered address, which isn't always the same as the business address -- official correspondence has to be received at that address, but the company doesn't have to operate from there.

You would think that the answer might be Google. But the problem with the internet is that it just thows up so much junk in your searches too.

After 7 and a half hours of searching, I was still not much further ahead than I was when i originally statred.

Perhaps I will try companies house in the morning - although you are right that the registered company address often needs to be little more than a mailbox.
