Thank you for the compliments! I did all visuals except for the painting on the front cover of the box. All final components, icons, tiles, tokens, rulebook layout and design, rules examples.....
Gheos from Zman?

LOL - I know... I sumbitted that ruleset to Z-man before I knew who the cover artist was going to be. Rest assured that Allan Bednar has been properly credited in the rules in all three languages - English, German, and Dutch - and a revised PDF will be uploaded to the Z-man site.
Good eyes!

Just wanted to say that I'm glad you guys are liking what you see. I'm very proud to be doing the game and happy that I'm leaving the design work to Rene and Josh :)
I hope you guys will give the game a try - I think it has a good shot in the marketplace.
I don't post much here but I do skim the threads from time to time. I'm pretty much swamped with work.
If all goes well, Gheos will be at Essen and either available in stores right before or soon after.

The game ruleset does look fantastic, as does the box art. Congratulations to everyone!!
Renee, out of curiosity, how long from initial idea to publication?
Woops, I missed this thread thanks to my holiday... Thank you all for the kind words!

This game was designed for the "Doomed Civilization" contest held on this very site in... spring 2003! So, that makes for three and a half years from initial idea to publication!

I'll point out that it was ready for publication some time ago... I see very few, very minor changes in the final product than when I playtested the game, which must've been a year ago.
True, I haven't changed anything about the game for over a year now. The last thing I changed was the pyramid scoring mechanic, which I struggled with since the beginning. In the end I went with the most simple solution, which, of course, is the best one. It's just weird that that never occured to me before.
I only played this a few times with Seth about a year or so ago, but it was fun as hell. Congrats! I'm definately going to pick this up when it becomes available.
