Just OOC, who here has published a game(s)? I would love to browse the geek for a while and see all the games BGDF members have made. I'm not quite there yet, as a matter of fact I should point out that I'm nowhere near there yet.

First two game's coming out in 2005, if you have some theme's or some concept's than you may not be so far away as you think. Let the members know if your working on something, everyone like's to keep
eachother dreams alive. Than when you get a game ready , playtest and playtest and playtest some more, it's all fun. I still play some of my game's with family and friends that are not published, If you enjoy
creating it's always fun. good luck .

There's a difference between published and sold. I've 'published' a number of games (only sold copies of them myself), but only 'sold' two:

BASTOGNE OR BUST

and

FIRST BLOOD: THE GUADALCANAL CAMPAIGN

(which appeared in S&T #179). BOB has a folder of its own on CONSIMWORLD, and FB can be downloaded (and printed out entirely) for free on GROGNARDS. I have three or four in the hopper, two are spoken for (if I had the time to finish them) and the one I'm hot to get out there I'm having jitters protecting because if it goes the way I think it will... well - what would you do if you had a copyright on bakgammon? I just sent in the papers to Library of Congress. It was actually a rush.

But if want to get published - do it yourself and take your game to a convention. Set it up as an event - cons are always looking for extra events. Then you can sell your copies there. If you're lucky a puyblisher will drop by and like it and buy it. That's how I got my two sales.

Hello,

I am self-publishing a board game and expansion:

Phantasy Realm
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/viewitem.php3?gameid=5877

Spells & Spell Casters, Exp. #01
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/viewitem.php3?gameid=6739

I am working on 3 other games, and just getting ready to send off a game to Kosmos.

Best regards,

Rainford

I had the worlds easiest publishing experience. It's almost embarassing. While working at Wizards of the Coast (in Customer Service and I am no longer working there) my design for an unfinished Torches and Pitchforks being completed by a friend of mine, Luke Matthews. Green Ronin liked the game and asked us to polish it up and about a year and half later it was released. While at Wizards I helped on a lot of early games, particularly RoboRally expansions. Nowadays R&D doesn't accept help like they did in the olden days, so you won't see my name on anything recent.

My current job as a full-time game designer (i.e. unemployed) has yielded a new card game called Barflies which I may see about getting published.

Ah yes, that's like the definition of "Freelance" - "unemployed, but I have my own business card."

I've designed over a dozen published games!

(But only computer games, I'm afraid...)
