I just placed my first Order!!!!!!

I am now an official publisher right???? well a self publisher but yet still a nobody LOL

I have just found a supplier to produce my game and total cost of it all is half of what I was quoted from some of the big guys to do it.

I can order as few as 20 if I wanted BUT I took the plunge and ordered 100 to start with. Also they liked the idea so much that they have not done games before and were intrigued by diong such that the price will be lower once I break 1000.

The best part is he is making the board on a cloth material then attaching it to a rubberized mat similiar to the welcome mats and doing the artwork which he is working from Jpeg and has no issues with it.

I said I would let you know when I was ready with my first game and how it turns out. Well I find out Friday about a second distributor willing to pick up my game as well. I also said that if the quality comes out as well as what he showed me from work he has done of other photos than I told him I woudl disclose his information as his prices are the best I found for what I needed not sure if would suit everyone though.

Thanks guys and wish me luck on finding more distributors.

My game should retail out at 14.99 which isnt a bad profit margin IF they sell and thats a big IF.

CONGRATS!

That's great! Can you tell us anything about your game? Or do we have to go check it out at the store now? ;)

The production time is 2 weeks. I will then be able to display them as I will be trying to get them out there quickly.

The gratitude for making this possible is owed to many from this forum and that is not a lie nor an endorsement as I was not paid. If you want an endorsement I will surely offer one but wait till I have created a few successful games first.

I am already working on the other games which were almost ready as well.

If someone has children in here I would like to speak with them about playing this game for their feedback as well.

I have a company which I have to call back which in all honesty after reading their site is a bigger player. I didnt know this by seeing it at first. They dont even do boardgames and after seeing my game I am to call the CEO for they are interested in picking up a whole line of games . The best part isnt that though. I am not saying this to toot my horn BUT they are a publicly traded company and dont look at submissions and I past that to a point where they are going to look at carrying games and I am now speaking to them about merging my company withn them instead of having to go public myself. The way God works sometimes is amazing. He has a heck of a sense of humor when he sees my plans and shoves me another way only to find myself in a better position than where I wanted to be yet still having met my plan where I wanted to be.

Thank you all again for showing me some of your talents and helpng me to do this. I am going to see the results before I send anyone to these guys as I dont want to send them to bad news if it doesnt work out.

I was just asked to keep the board informed on the process and progress I was making with the game.

Wow! Great!

I second Seth's comment. Please let us know more about your game, both the game itself and the production details like components, presentation, and how you plan to market it.

¡Felicitaciones! :-)

Congratulations -- that is indeed great news! I hope this goes well for you. Please keep us updated with information about the process: what went well, what problems you encountered, contacts of who worked with you, etc. That information could be very helpful to others looking to do the same thing.

Have you considered how you'll market the game?

First off, I'd strongly recommend registering your game in the BoardGameGeek.com game database. If you're an active member of the BoardGameGeek community, you may wish to send several samples to members you respect, and ask them to write reviews for your game. If you're not an active member, I'd recommend registering and posting a press release about the game on their forums... the BGG community is a great way to get in touch directly with dedicated gamers.

Best of luck!

Are you saying you will have a finished product in in two weeks? If you are you should be promoting it in every way you can now. It takes time to build momentum behind a product. Write your teasers and press relases and get them out. also get a web site dedicated to your product.

Good luck, i am looking forward to hearing and seeing more.

It will be done and shelf ready in 2 weeks YES.

I dont have the finished product in hand to show pics for building a website nor do I have the technical expeience to build one.

I do have the distributorS lined up. I have two YES and a company which will let me know end of week as they normally deal with books and action figures not games. They did seem intrigued and have called once emailed twice about discussing picking up the whole series I have set in place as I have 4 more done as expansions.

If a child enjoys battling with their siblings and other players as in Monopoly but yet easy as candyland. This will be the game for them.

If the child likes trivia pursuit....this the game for them

If the child cant sit still for more than 20 minutes than this is the game for them.

If a child likes animals than this is a game for them.

If parents want a non violent active based while educating their child with non controversial trivia (good clean fun) than this is a game for them.

If you need a babysitter and cant find out to give your child something to do while you read my stupid posts than this is the game for them.

If the parent wants a game that comes with NO cluttering boxes and is designed to hang behind a door with all the pieces for easier cleaning and care of the childs room than this is the game for them :)

If the childs parents have too much money than this is the game for them.

Is that enough hints???
Are you intrigued yet??

Alright, those were the best clues ever I know what it is!

How to clean your room!

Takes more than 20 minutes. Its like trival pursuit because you have to guess where things go. Educational. Your not sitting still. Sometimes you can find animals in your messy room (Doggie! I've been looking for you!) Something to do. If your parents have too much money its the game for them, because their going to have to buy lots of cleaning supplies!

Thanks, now wheres my cookie? ;)

Way to go, leadingedge! Your infectious joy inspires me! I can actually hear you laughing as you type your happy words. No matter what happens, you'll always have this feeling of accomplishment.

Now, I have the idea for a game ...

Good Luck!
