chasing games, bringing back memories of childhood stories

I was in a bookstore recently with a friend looking for presents for her young nephew. We decided to buy some children's classic stories. It's been many years since I've read them so upon reviewing the stories I was surprised at the reoccuring themes of the protagonist(s) being chased/captured or even eaten by the antagonist. Examples are 'Chicken Licken', 'The Ginger Bread Man', 'The Billy Goats Gruff', 'Little Red Riding Hood', and 'Little Red Hen'. All of them are quite emotionally evocative of fear, tension, anxiety, and suspense.

Now, I'm sure most of us have had a dream in which someone or something was chasing you (of which psychological theory suggests that these are mostly to do with running away from a real-life problem rather than confronting it), quite scary usually, or disturbing, possibly exciting...? take your pick :)

Cue board games of this genre: 'Finstere Flure', 'Ghost Chase', 'Scotland Yard', etc. that are as much emotionally orientated as they are strategic.

Could we do with more of these types of games? :)

Best wishes,
Dave W.

(I certainly think that tension is good in a game but 'Finstere Flure' really wasn't my personal idea of fun ;) )
