German Spam

I've got a weird problem cropping up. Due to the popularity of gaming in Germany, my company's contact info is now on a couple German reference lists. That's not the problem. In fact, I'm pretty excited about that.

The problem is that I'm now getting spam in German. I don't speak (or read) German so I don't have any way of identifying the stuff.

Obviously, I can't just ignore all foreign-language e-mail. Instead, I load the e-mail, copy the text to the clipboard, go to BabbleFish (or any of the other free online translation utilities), paste it in - and *then* discover that it's spam. Argh. It takes me like 5 minutes per e-mail, and it's driving me absolutely batty.

Anyone have any ideas?

German Spam

Only thought I have, does your company email have a spam filter? And is there an option to filter German email?

I think SpamAssassin handles filtering of multiple languages, so you might look into that if you have control over adding items like that to email/web systems.

Link to Apache.org and SpamAssassin

Hmm....I'll have to look into that.

We're not using SpamAssassin, though we probably should be. We handle our spam-filtering on the client side with filters (like Norton's). Unfortunately, I haven't found a foreign language options. It seems that to get German spam-filtering, I'm supposed to buy a completely new spam package.

I'll have to check out filtering on the server side..
