Particular 3D Design Programs...

Hello, I have been testing out a couple of 3D deisgn programs such as Softimage|XSI, Maya, and 3D Studio Max. But am unsure which is the best program inwhich to use for designing aspects of a game. Such as models, animations, weaponry that sort of stuff. I was wondering if anyone could perhaps give me theres two cents about these programs or any other 3d design programs.
