We should hold another contest (for fun or for a prize)

I wasn't here for the contests being the fairly new member that I am, but looking at the contests I think it would be neat to have another one just for fun. I don't know how you guys run the contests, but if anyone else likes the idea maybe we could get one going?

Yeah we need to do one... I think I have something in mind, but it's not a design contest... At least not a game design contest... That will come a little later.

Hmmm... You made me curious. What do you have in mind?

I wouldn't mind coming up with the rules but you might have to bear with me since I don't know how they are generally run.

I would love to see more competitions for game designers. Competitions allow designers to get a feel for the merit of their game, and if it does have merit, then it helps provide some needed notoriety to take it to the masses.

Please, lets do some board game design competitions.

I am all for contests but working out the details is the big problem. I have helped judge one and it is a huge amount for work even if there are only a few entries. You can expect to spend an average of 2-1/2 hours on each game from first read of the rules to scoring it and that’s if you only play it once. In other words it will take a group of dedicated judges to make a contest happen.
