Rules say the deadline is 15 march, 2005, but I guess this might be a typo, and mean 2006.

A bit thight, though, but it looks like they run this constet every year, so I'll probably give it a try next time.

They have not listed any criteria. My question is they going to judge the contest on who has the prettiest looking prototype? I might enter if they are going to judge the game itself.

It's not very clear, is it? I assume they are going to judge the game itself, as the game will be actually be printed by Carta Mundi and distributed by 999 Games.

The deadline is 15 March, yet the winners will be made public on 31 March. Now, having participated in a few contests I know that judging games may take several months! I don't know how many entries they will be getting, but since they don't have any pre-screening I wouldn't be surprised if their planning is too optimistic!

I was surprised by the little time they planned for judging.

My guess is they will first select the prettiest ones, then take a look at the game itself. That would be the only reasonable method (well, not too reasonable, actually) to judge a lot of prototypes in just a couple weeks.

This does not give me confidence that any submission will be judged for the quality of the games play. I’ll skip it this year and consider entering in the future if it looks like it is worth while.
