I've got a small game in the works that I'd like to title "Cold War" -- but that's taken. I thought I'd try the Russian translation of that name, but the tools I can find (like Babel Fish) don't really give me useful results.
Anyone out there speak Russian, or know someone who does? If so, could you ask them how the Russians refer to the "Cold War". Ideally, I'm after a single word, like perestroika or glasnost, but I'll take anything I can get.

Here is a english/russian dictionary you might find useful. They translate Cold War as ХОЛОДНАЯ ВОЙНА.
Most surprising with online dictionaries, ХОЛОДНАЯ ВОЙНА translates back into english as Cold War! ;-) No rotten meat and good vodka jokes here.
ВОЙНА (boyna) actually means war. ХОЛОДНАЯ (holodnahya) is the femenine adjective for cold.

That's a delicate issue. Personally, I don't like the way this is usually done: using Я in place of Rs and И instead if Ns, etc. Я is actually a vowel with a sound similar to ya (as un yahoo), and И is nos an N written backwards, but another vowel with an "ee" sound.
So for anyone having at least a slightly idea of russian or the cyrilic alphabet, things written in pseudo russian look weird, to say the least. OTOH, if you write WAR spelled with cyrilic characters, based on the sound, you'll get a sensless "УOP" or something.
I'll go for a more respectfull approach, including russian words in russian, using cyrilic characters.
