Templates for 6 up poker sized cards?

Hi Everyone,

I've grabbed the PDF template for the card templates available at the proto parts store. http://bgdf.com/catalog/

I'm very interested in using these to design some cards for an upcoming game, however I'd love it if there were templates in something other than PDF format (say for word, pagemaker, indesign, photoshop, etc.)

I was following the discussion on this but the thread seems to have ended in 2004.

Anyone have anything?

Thanks,
Ben

I have one that I created for Macromedia freehand. If you can use indesign or photoshop, then you should have the necessary skills to make a template for yourself. Just buy some of the card sheets, measure them by hand, then using those measurements, make the appropriate template for your program. It took me all of 5 minutes to make one in freehand.

Ah Ha Darkehorse, but you're assuming that I can use these products with some competency, which is probably not the case.

I can muddle through throwing a decent looking card onto a template. I could also probably figure out how to design a new template, but it would take me a while and I'd rather spend what extra free time I have designing games, than templates.

So rather than reinvent the wheel, I'd much rather use an existing template.

BTW, I found that photoshop can open and modify PDFs, but I'm fairly inept with photoshop.

Cheers!

I'll see if I can't save my template as an EPS. Photoshop should be able to open that. You'll still need to move the template to a non printing layer (so you'll have to learn photoshop enough to at least do that). You probably don't want template borders to show on your printout, you just want to use the template as a guide.

I'm working on some for HTML (ASP). I'll very likely post them here when I'm done.

Any templates that could be placed here would be awesome and much appreciated.

Have you seen the playing cards templates at Newt's ?

http://www.newtscards.com/design_a_card.asp

They have Word, Publisher and PDF formats..

Their Design-A-Card master sheets look pretty nice, though I haven't tried them myself...

It looks like they're functionally equivalent to the protoparts cards, but the protoparts cards are much less expensive . The Newt's cards are $10 for 20 sheets while protoparts are $8 for 25 sheets. Both are 6 cards per sheet.
