I just checked their list of speakers (http://protospiel.home.att.net/schedule.html) this year and it looks impressive.

James Kyle (developed HellRail), Mike Petty (who also runs Fairplaygames.com), and Stephen Glenn (our own Snoop who designed Spiel De Jahres nominee Balloon Cup).

I would have replied sooner, but I don't check the forums as much as I would with more time ;^) I'm going, from west Chicago suburbs, and I was there last year. Unfortunately, I don't have a video camera. But I can throw the idea out to the organizers to see if they might want to do something like that now or in the future.

Can't make it...

I just returned from Origins so I can't attend this show due to an acute lack of funds (cough "broke" cough) but if anyone can make it I highly suggest taking the effort and making the trip. I heard several of James Kyle's seminars at Origins and his method of approaching board game design forces you to innovate in ways you didn't think were possible. Not so much revolutionary, as evolutionary in my mind. I will post the outlines of his seminars that I was fortunate enough to attend but the bottom line is the trip is worth it just to get your game ideas out on the table. (And playtested) He is very objective and what you'll discover is designers are an entirely different animal compared to the normal stereotypical game test player. They will break and disect your game if at all possible and that is what makes it fun, players playing the game in ways you didn't anticipate. I will definately be in attendence at next year's Protospiel.

YAY! I am headed to Protospiel !!!

:o Well, I am headed to Protospiel but only for Friday and Saturday. I can't miss my three hour summer Statistics course on Thursday nights. I am headed from Indianapolis, so it is a straight shot up I-69 for me...oh about 5 hours.

I wasn't going to go but my Fiance said "GO! You will enjoy it!" (Now, you see one (of many) reasons I am marrying this woman!) She is so good about being a "Gamer-widow"!!! So, I hope to see some folks up there.

So I am scrambling to make an el-cheapo prototype for my second game, and tweeking my other one. I hope they aren't expecting slick shiny new pro prototypes!

Also, If anyone is coming to GENCON here in INDY feel free to drop me a line with any INDY related questions.
