2nd playtest - Mi Gato se Incendia

The second playtest happened today and went much better than the first instance.

The new gameboard works much better than the old one. No more free form moving! Now the cat can move in ways that the players can't, which makes for a merry chase.

We had four players this time as opposed to three last time and play was much smoother. Although many new ideas came about from this play session. I've had to make a number of changes in the rules to smooth out the gameplay, and we determined that I still have way to many cards in play at any given time.

We played three games, and they lasted for 25 minutes, 15 minutes and 14 minutes respectively. Which is right about where I'm looking. Once I get the new cards in play I suspect that gameplay will level off between 20-30 minutes (possibly a bit longer with only 2 players). And the game will be able to accomodate 2-6 players.

I've thrown the prototype board (unfortunately in powerpoint (.ppt) format until I can make a pdf tomorrow) onto the below site if anyone wants to take a look. It's a little large at 1.12 MB in size.

It's pretty rough at the moment so go easy on it. I'll see about getting a basic rules set up as well in the near future.

A few other things I've determined are that the playing cards, and there are two sets Actions and Events, will be printed on business card stock. At least for my final prototype and personal game board. The board itself is 22" x 17". I hope to have a third playtesting session in a week or two with a bunch of people not present at my first two.

Any further suggestions, throw 'em my way.

Cheers!
Ben
