Hello

This weekend the test group I am a member of had a game session. 7 of the 8 members were present. We started 9 am and the session ended 14 hours later at 11 pm with a 30 minutes brake for lunch.
We played both prototypes and games that are out in the market. All games are rated and we have a discussion around the game (theme, mechanism, goal and how fun it is to play the game).

In this session there was 4 prototypes tested:

Small Devils Deed
Creator: Johan (Johan Forsell)
Game type: Light card game for 3-6 players.
Description: : You play a little devil that are thrown out from hell and walk the earth. To come back to hell you have to do evil deeds. The problem is that you are happy on earth and do not want to come back. Your goal is to be second from the end (then you can stay on earth (your punishment are extended)). The devil that come in last or have only done good deeds, have to dig coal for at least 1000 years.
Comments: : I had tried to do a light, easy game and I succeeded with that, but the game was to light and too easy. I have to add a few more options in the game.

Chicago
Creator: Zaiga (René Wiersma)
Game type: Board game 3-6 players
Description: : You are a detective in Chicago around 1920-1930. A murder has been committed and your job is to find the guilty gangster.
Comments: : see Chicago test thread.

The siege
Creator: Johan (Johan Forsell)
Game type: Political/war board game (3-6 players).
Description: The town is under siege. Enemies have just entered the main gate. The possessive thing is that the king has planned for this and there are enough resources to win the war over this enemy but…
…the king is dead (and the members in the royal family are the only one that knows about it (since they together did murder the king)). Right now is to royal family holding a council to divide the resources (loyal characters, office, buildings, units and so on). The game is a two part game. In each turn you first play the council and tryes to get the best resources and then you play the events and actions in the city.
Comments: This worked well for the first test (actually the second but the game is rewritten from scratch). A lot of work still remains but I was satisfied of the outcome. (This game will be in GDW in the end of February).

Wizards War
Creator: Nisse (Nils Marcusson (not a member of this forum))
Game type: Aggressive card game for 3+ players.
Description: : You are a wizard that fights other wizards over the power. Each turn you can attack any number of wizards and for every wizard you eliminate you get one point (and get stronger).
Comments: : A fun and fast game, but we had problems with the graphics of the game (the prototype was to simple). The main problem with the game was not a run away leader but a looser behind (the players in the last position was the main target for the stronger wizards).

Still in the pipeline is test two of Neolithic:Chieftan by Eugene Charron (onew0rd). This game will be tested this week. That game is described here.

The next game session will be in February (no date is set yet) and if you are interested in to get your game tested read my Exchange work tread.
