Long Island Playtesting Group?

I was wondering if there was a group of playtesters that meet regularly on Long Island. My current game design (War Columns) has advanced quite a bit, and I wouldn't mind some more testers. Plus, of course, I'd enjoy helping others test their own games.

If no such group exists, would other LI'ers be interested in starting one? I just don't get enough live tests of my game, which significantly slows down its development.

Anyone interested can PM me here.

Interestingly enough, I just responded to you on the Geek on this.

My regular game group is not adverse to playtesting prototypes designed by our members.

However, I wouldn't be adverse to something a bit more dedicated. Say once a month.

We play in the Nassau and western Suffolk part of LI.

I'm in Hauppauge and would be very willing to travel around LI to get some good playtesting in. While I'm only working on one game at the moment, I have three on the backburner.

War Columns is a two player game, although I've designed four decks thus far (and therefor could accomodate four players for a test session without duplicate decks). A regular (monthly) session would be ideal, allowing all involved to get regular feedback on games that are well developed but not quite ready for blind testing yet.

Any other designers in the area interested?

Well, my group has at least two designers in it (one of them is even famous). I'm sure that we would play with you. You might also consider joining our group as a regular. That way you'll get to meet us all, play games (we play every Friday with game days on three day weekends) and even play test in the group itself.

Send me a PM and I'll give you details. You could come to this weeks game night.

So close and yet so far! I'm in Queens, and carless. :( But I might be willing to take a train trip out to you all. And hey, you all must come into NYC every once in a while, right? :)

Seriously, especially if we were to meet monthly, would love to get involved.

I don't think a trip to Queens is out of the question, Carlos, especially if you'd be willing to come out this way as well.

I have at least one interested playtester from BGG and the friend I've been testing the game with up until now would, I'm sure, be happy to playtest other games as well. So, a monthly get together purely for playtesting our games sounds very feasable.

Carl, I do appreciate the invitation to your game group. It's VERY tempting, but I'm involved in two gaming groups right now (sadly, neither of which is an appropriate venue for testing War Columns for a variety of reasons). Given my own work schedule, my 17 mos. old son and my wife's school schedule, it just isn't feasable right now to add a third (as much as I'd like to).

If you guys are interested, shoot me a PM with your e-mail addresses and we can start working out the details.
