Time to start thinking about scheduling a date for our next northeast regional "playfest" get together. The last two have been quite successful, with about 5 of us at each, but it would be great if we could push the attendance up to 6 or 7 to facilitate breaking up into two tables.

We'll do the schedule in the usual fashion: write out all the Saturdays in January and early February, and next to a day that you're more than 67% likely to be able to attend, put "XX"; next to a day that you may be able to attend (more than 33% likely to be able to attend), put "X". Leave days that you're not likely to be able to attend blank.

So, my calendar:

Jan. 8 XX
Jan 15 X
Jan 22 X
Jan 29 XX
Feb 5 XX
Feb 12 XX
Feb 19 XX

***Is this for playtesting games or to play produed games? Or both?

It's for playtesting only, or at least that's all we've done so far. Since the time is somewhat limited and since most of us have other folks with whom we can play published games, I suspect we'll stick to just playtesting each other's prototypes at these gatherings for the foreseeable future...

One last thing...

A friend of mine just invited my wife and I to GM at a con on the weekend of January 29. If both fell on the same day, I'd go to the BGDF meeting. But the sooner I can give my friend an answer, the better.

So if the meeting will be scheduled for Jan. 15 or Feb. 5 (the best-looking dates so far), please let me know as soon as possible so I can help my friend out. Conversely, if it's held on January 29, I can still make it, but I'd prefer to tell my friend as soon as I can that I won't be there.

Sorry to be a pain, and looking forward to seeing everyone again!

****Is this Dreamation? I love going there to play and hang out - most of my friends go there. Unfortunately I got a wedding to attend that weekend. They do run another con in July, Dexcon. Realy good people. Lots of gaming.

Yeah, it's Dreamation! I've told the boardgame GM that I'll be there that weekend, since I haven't heard anything from these boards about the playtest-fest. :(

My new, updated calendar of availability...

Jan. 8
Jan 15 XX
Jan 22 X
Jan 29
Feb 5 X
Feb 12
Feb 19 X

It looks to me like the 5th will be the most promising day, but I'm waiting to hear back from Tom (nosissies) before we finalize. Also, no word yet from SiskNY or Zzzz. You guys in or out?

For now, though, probably pencil in the 5th on your calendars...

***Crap, I might have to bail on Feb 5th. I don't know yet - but I guess this means the 15th is out for sure?

Sorry.

Hey folks, sorry for the delay in responding to this. Feb 5th will work well for me. To put that in the prescribed format,
Jan. 8
Jan 15
Jan 22
Jan 29
Feb 5 XX
Feb 12 X
Feb 19 XX

peace,
Tom

It looks like the 5th is the best day, so let's shoot for that. Zev, hope you can still make it; it looks like Jan 15th just won't work as well for fanaka and nosissies.

The three of us (fanaka, nosissies, and myself) locals will discuss time and location, but I assume it will run from 12ish - 9ish again. If you are interested in attending and you're not nosissies, fanaka, or ingredientX, please IM/PM me your email address, as my email just changed and I lost everyone's address. I'll let everyone know where it's going to be held.

Looking forward to seeing everyone for some playtesting!

Best,

Jeff

I would love to be able to attend the coming session, but I'm afraid that will most likely be unable to. I'll let you know if anything changes, but for now I'm afraid I won't be able to make it.

I'm looking forward to it! Sorry that SiskNY and Z-Man can't make it... perhaps the next one? Z-Man, if you'll be at Dreamation, I'll be there on Saturday, and I'll look out for you...

*****Ah, timing. I will be at Dreamation for Fri only as Sat finds me with other plans. I should be here from early on and will bring games to playtest. Designer Andrew Parks (Ideology, Camelot Legends) will show up around 6pm Fri to playtest.

I hope to find out about Feb 5 next week. But certainly I'd like to be informed of future playtest meetings. Just FYI, it gets harder toward summer as I attend a lot of cons.

Thanks!
