I sourced some Blank Wooden Dice cubes for my self, I have a way to put the type of faces that I need, on the dice my self.. so I am ordering blanks to avoid the 400$ per face tooling charges...

What I have now are white blanks 16mm with rounded corners. I may also have a few other colors... and possibly a few that are bare wood...
I might do the typical red green yellow blue...

These are actualy dice... not just craft store cubes... I had to get a few 1000... lots and lots of dice!

I am willing to resell some of my bulk order if any one wants any...
I may ebay a bunch off... this should help me pay for the extras I dont need... etc...

I will likely resell them for about:
$0.42 per cube (200 and under)
$0.38 per cube (over 200)
(this includes shipping, USA)

Any place to get them cheaper? Been looking and looking...
Saw others looking figured I would share my order...

Protoparts has them for $.15 each. Shipping is extra however.

If you have an easy enough way to customize the blank dice (like silk screening them), maybe you can offer custom dice too. I bet many people will be interested in affordable short runs of custom dice.

My way is realy easy, but requires custom cast parts... and I dont know if it will work yet so no real point in typing much about it, cuz if it worked so easy why has no one done it yet?! :) - or maybe they have...

The only problem is repitition... each face has to put on the die individualy... but it would be quicker than stickers and spray sealant...

crossing my fingers big time that it works!!! theres a chance it will look funky.. and the end result definaly wont be for all games... cosmeticly.

Ok, I'll bite, so what is "your way"? I'm guessing that you've got some old reverse printing numbers (lead or some such metal with extruded digits) and you're going to be hammering the numbers into the wooden dice?

Maybe a quick swipe of paint over the numbers and then clean off the face to give some contrast?

Just a guess, but it sounds like a decent idea to me if that's what you're doing. Time-consuming is right though... that would be a lot of hammering.

....

Of course you probably aren't doing plain numbers, or you could just buy pre-faced dice.... maybe a custom combo of numbers, or maybe letters, or images, who knows....?

An example...

its close to the hamer stamp, VERY close... that is one way I was gona do the number dice, just get a wood stamp and hammer kit.. those have numbers and letters already :)

The way I am doing it wont require painting the numbers, IF it comes out ok... it might be blurry...

Some sort of pyrography? Like heating metal stamps and pressing onto the wood? As long as the metal is hard enough not to melt, it should work. I've seen wood marked that way.
