Game Board Production Equipment

Hi everyone,
I have noticed alot of discussion on game board production costs. I am new to this stuff, but have a keen interest in producing a Christian game for children.

My question is, does anyone know what specific equipment is used to produce a quality board?

Thanks,
Andrew

Game board machines

I can't recall the brand, but the machines are referred to as case wrappers. This produces the game boards that have a material on the back which wraps to the front, then the print is applied to the front leving no exposed outside edges.

In the case of a quad-folding board, die cutting 1 panel of the board is an additional process typically done on another production line.

The case wrappers run in the area of $40,000-$50,000

Yikes !

Andrew,

Are you looking to manufacture the boards yourself or just do the game design? If you are only doing the design there are a number of companies out there that will do the printing for you. There are several topics within the Game Production part of the forum where people have listed different companies. You can also check out the Professional Services area in the Web Resources area of the forum.

Good luck with your game!

Thanks for the replies.

I'm giving serious consideration to starting a business marketing Christian games and educational material. I have reviewed several posts regarding designing and making prototype game boards and found them quite interesting. I'm conducting research on the viability of manufacturing a small production run vs outsourcing. That's why I asked about the type of equipment used by professional operations. I'm not necessarily planning on going that route, but I don't want to rule out any options just yet.
