Stackable parts

Does anyone know of a small stackable item similar to interlocking poker chips? It should be visible from the side so you can tell what is in the stack, and should be thin enough that you could stack up to 15 of them without getting too high. The issue is that 15 stacked poker chips aren't very stable, so one stray move of the hand, and pieces could fly all over the board.

Any help is appreciated. Also, if you have a website resource send that along as well.

Magnets are probably you best chioce...can be various colors/shapes include bult in stacking thats the way I'd go----plus being that they are rather generic no permission would be needed to use them

You could also do something where you have a dowel rod with a base, and the counters are rings that fit over the rod. That should be pretty stable, hold things together, and not be too hard to buy/make. You should be able to find all those parts at craft shops/websites.

Had to google to figure out draughts are checkers. Unfortunately, the thickness will really prevent a stack much higher than 10. I need about 15. The dowel ring idea might work, but I think it would really clutter up the board.

Does anyone have a source for items like poker chips, but they have deep interlocking teeth? This might lock down the stack better and maintain the height requirement.

thanks,
Nate

Check with Judy

Check with Rolco Games (http://www.rolcogames.com). They have all sorts of plastic pieces, and Judy's always been very helpful with us.

Legos might work, at least temporarily for a prototype. They have a thin brick that is essentially the thickness of a standard lego brick cut into thirds. You could stack these up to 15 high without a problem, and they come in multiple colors.

Actually I just checked, in the lego world, these bricks are called plates.

Here's a link from the Lego site where you can buy these plates online:

Hope this helps,
