At BGG it says this is unpublished... which is correct? (Also, if this is unpublished, I'm curious as to how it got an entry at the 'geek...)

Would that this were true. Just because it's got an entry on BGG doesn't mean it has been published... (benedict: I'd quite like to know how this happened too. But Seth never tells me anything ;-))

As you say, BGG has a category for 'unpublished' ... All For One is not published (yet).

Boardgamegeek questions

I was wondering:

- Is there any rules that determine if a game can be added to their database?

- Are all game allowed to be listed on this website? For example, does non-commercial(free) or non-physical(Electronic) games are allowed to be in the database.

- Are the entries in the database made by common people (Players, Game Designer, etc.) or is it "board game geek" that search for games available in the world?

maybe other people can answer this better, but here's mine :

- Is there any rules that determine if a game can be added to their database?

The only guidelines is this (when we submit new games in BGG) :
The summary should be written as objectively as possible and should merely detail the major parts of the game. Also games submitted without summaries will more than likely not be added to the database.

And here's more guidelines : http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/88432

(Yes, unpublished games is allowed)

- Are all game allowed to be listed on this website? For example, does non-commercial(free) or non-physical(Electronic) games are allowed to be in the database.

Free games : yes, I put mine there.
I think as long as the game is really finished (I mean not in a playtesting/design form) , I think it is okay. Sometimes I REALLY want to add my new game there but I have to wait until everything is ready, because sometimes I change course in designing games (a 75%, even 90%, ready game sometimes left untouch for a LOOONG time because I prepare another one)

Electronic games and RPG : as far as I know : no (unless the electronic games use some board / cards to play, I think)

- Are the entries in the database made by common people (Players, Game Designer, etc.) or is it "board game geek" that search for games available in the world?

I think it is the people (sometimes, including me :) ) who put games in the database, because you get GeekGold when you do.

And about a designer rate his own game, well, it depends on the person. I myself don't like it, so I don't rate my own games. Why ? Well, one time, I always laughed when each parent I met say that their children is the best in the world, but after I have one (6 weeks old baby now), then I know now :)
yes, my baby is the BEST in the world heh heh heh (don't argue ... :P )
