Hi ALL,

Hi All,

We desire to send a parcel about 2lb 7oz 1250kg through the postal system. The package will be going to destinations all over the world. As we have not yet manufactured this product, we still have the option to decide where to manufacture it.

Postal charges vary worldwide, does anyone know the country with the cheapest postal system, for a package of this size? Can you give examples?

Tough one I know but someone may know.

Thanks,

John.

Hi

Perhaps this site could help you out? The information supplied is in the countries' specific currencies, but a simple currency exchange site could help you out with that one.

are you planning on working with a company that does fulfillment? If not it is not going to be cost effective to mail your stock to you from any country. They ship by errr. ships. It takes awhile but the cost is going to be a fraction of any mail service. Any company you deal with should be able to include the delivery cost in the quote.

Thanks we would be looking to work with a fullfillment company. But we want to find out which country has the cheapest postal system to send packages abroad.

When we have discovered this, we will then look for manufacture and fullfilment in that country.

Any comments pointers mucho appreciated.

I'm not sure it is particularly wise to have the cost of postage as your primary criteria for choosing where to base your manufacturing and fulfillment. I have no idea how much international postage rates vary, but it's surely a LOT LESS than the variance in manufacturing and fulfillment cost and quality (let alone the availability of these things, if any) across the same geographical regions. Mailing stuff is a trivial commodity service. Manufactuing games and providing order fulfillment services is much less so. Better to get that part right and worry about shipping as a secondary or tertiary priority.

Are you absolutely positive your product will truly be selling in significant quantities in that many different countries? Hopefully you actually have a lot of orders already that takes most of the uncertainty out of this, but even if you do, your product would have to be about the same cost, if not much less expensive than, the cost of average postage before you should put too much emphasis on the logistics of shipping.

It'd be a real bummer if the best shipping rates happen to be out of Nepal. You'll have a hard time locating a decent game manufacturer or order fulfillment service. :-)

Braincog,

Thanks your comments were fully understood and appreciated.

Delano are manufacturing and doing the fullfilment for our release in November. The problem is in November we are going on national sattelite TV in the USA promoting the game.

Sattelite goes around the world, and it cost a fortune to ship.

I live in the UK and I recall about ten years ago all of our junk mail used to came from Holland as the post was about 40% cheaper.

Also you may recall the Pozzi scam in Chicago when they were pretending to trade in a cheaper overseas postal system.

Just got me to thinking if we were succesfull and our games were promoted through tv and AFFILIATE PARTNERS www.Mission316.com people ordered from the website...just make more sense if we found a postal system that was quite a bit cheaper, plus there were quality manufacturing and fullfillment. A relocation might be feasable.

Just thinking out loud.

Thanks,

John.
