Hey fellow designers,

I'd like to share some more information about my game (which is called Super Fantasy Brawl atm - but the name still can change) and decided to do a series of short videos introducing the core mechanics. Here is one of my first drafts:

It would be cool, if you could help me with improving the style of the video (I know, this is not going to be a kickstarter promotional video, for me it would be important that you got the message and understand the mechanic) and if you could give me some feedback on the combat system itself!

Thanks for watching,

(I'm replying just so you won't hear crickets. I'm afraid I don't have anything constructive to offer.)

The video was clear, and had good examples (attacking different areas, the same areas, a decent overview of the icons, and a special attack -- you got it all, I guess). I feel as though I'd be ready to do the combat mechanic part of the game, at least. My only question would be whether the player gets to attack with each of his units, or if he has a limited number of attacks on each turn.

Very well made video.

Very well made video. Everything was clearly explained and the audio was crisp and clean. As far as improving the video, the only thing I'd recommend (and this is probably just my personal preference), is to zoom the camera out just a bit and a little higher to see a better layout of the board. (although I do recognize that the video was made entirely to explain the cards, again just my preference).

Now for the combat system. It seems very well designed so far, it's easy to understand while providing a lot of depth and counter play. I trust you spent a lot of time balancing it, but I do have one concern that wasn't addressed in the video. I'm not sure if it is even at all possible, but I hope a player may not be infinitely unable to move or attack from those crippling moves.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your comments!

Thanks for your comments! It's good that the video is rather easy to understand as I can keep the style and go into other core mechanics of the game with new videos.

Regarding your questions:
Super Fantasy Brawl is a skirmish combat game where players have teams of 4 heroes each. You get to choose one action card for each of your heroes at the beginning of the round, so every hero gets to attack once per round (provided you selected an attack card).

You can keep on crippling your opponent's heroes sometimes in a 1:1 situation, but you normally have the option to defend against slows and stuns (while risking damage though) and as the game is 4vs4 your other heroes can interfere. Additinally the activation system changes activation order based on selected action cards (I'll do a video showing activation mechanics soon) so you have options to escape such situations.
However, taking opponent key units out of the game for some turns is a valid strategy, and forces your opponent to protect his key units with rather supportive units, that for example can prevent heroes from getting negative status effects etc.
