I like your #9 best with flame in center. It preserves the graphical feel of your dragon cards. But the smoke style in #4 without a burnt background would be most appealing. Since the concept is that the torch is cauterizing, why not greenish smoke to further disguise it in hand?

I like number 4 better. Number 9 is nice but to me the smoke effect is overwhelming the card

I like four the best, although I also think you should make the backgrounds an even color as this will keep the design theme of the cards.

I like the smoke and torch size of 6, but without the burned background, like in 9.
