Hello!

I am not entirely sure if this is the best forum for this topic, but here it goes:

I have this ....homework kinda for a company to create a gameplay for a hunting game. They said i should do it in bout 8 hours, and that i can do it by drawing it on the paper, or in 2d, 3d programs, and because they might not have the programs I will work into, I should send them screenshots only..
But i don't see how I can show a gameplay other than making a trailer where I can show all the details , when he's moving, when he's shooting, etc. But I'm guessing a trailer implies programming too, and they never asked for that....
I never worked on a game, so maybe that's why I don't realize. It seemed pretty obvious for them what they were asking, so I didn't want to insist, since it's an interview.....

Heya Super girl, welcome

Heya Super girl, welcome :)

Ok first of all, is it a board game, an art project, a digital game company interview or what - they all will need to be approached differently, the more knowledge we have, the easier we can help you.

From what you have given so far, I assum they want you to come up with ideas alone. Maybe they want you to do something like draw down your ideas on a piece of paper and show what type of game play the game would have. eg If it's a fps game, then show the HUD , the enemies and lots of annotations and notes around the display of what would happen - couple it with some writing on a seperate sheet of paper of exactly how the game would break down and you would end up with some paperwork that would explain your entire game to someone else with no explanation necassary from you.

But, that is if it's an FPS hunting game for a digital games school / company.

Let us know :)

Heya, thanks fore your

Heya, thanks fore your reply.

Yes, It is for an interview, and yes , they didn't really specified if it's FPS , but I'm guessing that is what they 'd want.
And yees, just like you said , I will have to send them some paperwork that would explain the entire game so that they won't have any questions to put.
Well , you kinda answered to my question. I wans't sure if this is what they asked , to do a mini level kinda in pictures and text....
So thanks for your help!

Cool, well in this sense

Cool, well in this sense then, the more you do the better - if you properly go for it and do loads of work, you will stand out better from your piers.

They have basically said "well go on then, show us" so if you show them game mechanics along with artwork and a fully rendered 3d game still, that would probably be what they want.

Good luck Super Girl, remember your friends at bgdf when you are the next will wright :)
