Hi All,

Does anyone know of a source to get a good number of small character tokens/miniatures for a low price? Not looking for anything to paint, no need to be fully colored, just some simple heroes and warriors to use as place-holders for prototyping.

Thanks!

I hope you get some great answers because I would love some better and inexpensive prototype minitures too.

My best answer is thegamecrafter.com.

Dollar Store Finds

If you really need some figures and not just small fold-up characters or featureless pawns, I suggest you head out to your friendly neighbourhood dollar store and pick up a bag or two of plastic figures. You might find cowboys & indians, ninjas, pirates, the ubiquitous 'army man,' animals, and all sorts of other interesting figures that might help illustrate your ideas.

Yeah, I've considered using

Yeah, I've considered using plastic army men and the Toob figures you can get at craft stores. I never considered dollar stores though!

I'd just like something better than the colored joystick pawns and gems that I've been using. It would be interesting seeing cowboys versus space men...

Another thought is going to

Another thought is going to thrift stores and buying cheap games and using their pieces.

What about Sparks?

What about Sparks? http://www222.pair.com/sjohn/sparks.htm

Alternately, I think that SJ Games still sells Cardboard Heroes.
