20 Minute Wasteland

This is a simple, very light RPG game about wandering the post-apocalyptic wasteland.

It's for 2-3 players.

The objective is to complete the four objectives (in any order) before any other player.

I'm looking for feedback on the mechanics - the artwork is placeholder stuff.

'screwdriver' is one

'screwdriver' is one word.

'rad pants' sounds like 'awesome pants'. I guess it's meant to be pants that protect you from radiation, but I don't think there's any such thing.

'aid kit' should be 'first aid kit'.

'appartments' has only one 'p'.

"Shuffle the character/objective cards and deal two to each player. Each player will decide which will be their character card and which will be their objective card".

Presumably you have to make one the character card and the other the objective card?

What is Loot meant to be, since it isn't ammunition or any of the items you can collect?

Oh that font.

It might be good for the logo on the box, but it makes everything hard to read for me.

Combined with the weird filter on the character cards, the deck largely hurts my head..

Cheers, I'll fix those typos.

Cheers, I'll fix those typos.

The objective/character cards have one side a character and the other side an objective, so the player decided which of the two cards will be the character and which will be the objective.

The loot thematically represents the other bits you need to clear the area: Bobby pins, screws, rope, batteries, etc.

The items you get from the objective card are more special.

I hear you, the art is very much work in progress while I test the mechanics, but I'll make the card text more readable.

The best place to tell me that isn't here, but in the rules.

I don't think people (either in the real world, or the fiction of the game) would be likely to call that loot.

Update

Hi,

The files have been updated.

The game play has been changed to add events during each turn, which helps mix up the play and what RPG doesn't have random events?! The addition of events came at the cost of the player count and now the game only supports up to 3 players.

The objectives have been tweaked to add some asymmetry into the game. Flavour text has also been added to make the objectives more coherent.

Two locations have changed, but the overall location count remains the same.

The art has been slightly tweaked and the font was changed to be more readable.

If anyone manages to play it, I'd love to hear what you thought of the game play.
