I need some encounter ideas for a dungeon crawl type game

A while back, I picked up a small container full of 1" hexes made from mdf. Recently, while thinking about them, I had an idea for a game where the players start on 1 tile, and have to explore the surrounding tiles to find a treasure, and the exit to the dungeon. The tiles are pulled randomly and placed after the players move, so they are always surrounded by 6 tiles.

Well, I'm looking for some encounters that the players can run into while they search for the treasure. My idea is to have certain tiles be encounter tiles, and have the play pull from an encounter deck of cards. Both the Exit to the dungeon and the treasure are encounters, and I thought about have some monsters as encounters, but I wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas for things they could encounter in the dungeon.

Thanks in advance!

I think a quick glance

I think a quick glance through any fantasy themed RPG source-book nwould be a good place to get ideas. Off the top of my head, some generic ones are: traps, pitfalls or other obstacles, lost/disoriented townspeople, ancient ruins/relics, secret chambers or puzzles, camping spots, shrines (good or evil). I could go on and on. Hope these are along the lines of what you're looking for.

Encounters

A step on to a hidden cobble stone which reveals a hidden room. The heroes look around bewildered thinking its safe to enter. The room is pitch black. The heroes enter with caution. The torches reveal a chest in the room. After walking inside the passage closes. They are locked in? When they get closer, arrows from all directions hit the heroes. Who can survive this mimic treasure room?
