Adventure card ... in progress. Play your heroes and resources on them to gain VP.
Building card layout... item shop card
Digital updated playmat with some tweaks to the layout.
Hero card layout... archer card.
Physical Playmat
Item card layout... basic bow card. Item cards will slide under heroes to equip items to them.

Posted to BGG as well.

Hey everybody... currently working on a series of games set in a certain world of pixel-art goodness where the characters rely on Pixels as a means of resource. The pixels are magic and can be used in fighting and also for building and crafting.

Here's a look at my first game I'm working on. The series is called Pixel Protectors, and this specific card game does not yet have a title. Wanted to show off a little of my progress in photoshop with my layout of my cards and my player mat.

Basically the game is played 2 player, fighting for victory points. You both play as kings of a kingdom, managing the resources of your kingdom - Pixels, Morale, and Money! Also your heroes act as a secondary resource that you can move around. Buildings help you get extra resources, unlock special abilities or moves - but only if you pay the resource needed!

Check out my pictures and tell me what you think. I like to call this a "resource management" game however... it's more like your resources are all the actions you can take in a single round and you need to manage them. So would it be an "action management" game? Not sure!

Anyways, thanks for looking!

Thanks! I am aiming for a very bright and cheery look with clean layout and stuff.

Ummm the cards and mat are just a regular everyday cardstock, printed from my home printer with some tokens and meeples from the Game Crafter site.
