Looking for an artist for my team

I know this may be a long shot, but I was hoping that maybe I could find a hobbyist in the Dallas area with decent artistic talent that would be interested in being part of my team (currently only 2 people) and be involved in not only illustrations but also the brainstorming, design and playtesting of games. I have a few idea in my head (also known as OneNote), and I currently am waiting on printed prototypes for 2 of them (one is EXTREMELY simple, and one is more complex). I feel this could also help me get out in the community more, as I currently don't have many game-playing friends, I find the process of finding friends/groups to be extremely overwhelming, and the only real "group" I play with are not really what you would call "gamers".
If you're interested, feel free to PM me with anything you feel may be relevant to my decision.

Artists at BGG

djayshaggy,

Over at BGG, there's an entire forum dedicated to finding Artists and Graphic Artists from around the country and around the world.

Given the number of "Cons" in an around Texas, I have no doubt you can find a talented artist for your team.

Cheers,
Joe

You should know...

Most artists want to be paid "UP-FRONT" for their artwork. And it becomes an issue of negotiating a price per piece with a volume discount based on the number of pieces of art (or illustrations).

Usually most artists are not interested in working as part of the TEAM - it's usually a Professional Services type of relationship where they offer you their services based on some agreed upon terms. Like contractual work.

And if you like your artist, you will of course credit them for the work that they do for you...
