I need play testers for a quick super cheap to print card game called Hydras.

Hydras is a quick and easy card game with elements of tile laying games and some take that mechanics. The game is for 2-4 players, takes about 5 minutes to teach, and around 15-30 minutes to play.

Each player starts with a hydra body card and takes turns playing and drawing cards. Cards can be played on their own hydras to build up their defenses, thwart or undo their opponent's attacks, and increase the number of heads on their hydra. They can also be played to attack your opponent's hydras by cutting off heads or burning stumps.

The game ends when the deck runs out. The player with the most heads at the end of the game wins!

You can download the game here:

It can be printed out on 4-5 pages. All art is kept simple to reduce ink costs.

Hi,

I will print it and try. I looked at the cards and you have left one card on the last page. Just take this card an put it on your first page to the bottom under your text. You save one sheet of paper every time someone prints thist game and this will save 10000 trees ;-) atleast.

Not a bad idea, but my thought was that you'd either print pages 2-5 or 2-6 depending on if you wanted the 2-3 or 2-4 player version. I can probably better express that in the header page.

I just played this game and it is a lot of fun. It is easy to learn and simple to play and there certainly are many ways to make this hydra look. However I did encounter one problem.

About 5-7 cards from the end of the game I had no choice but to close off the last open neck with a head because I had no neck extentions or anything to place in the spot to open up more room. I also had no swords so I effectively made it impossible to build more on the hydra.

Obviously I ended the game there and counted heads :)

So overall: An interesting little game that you can take with you easily and it plays really fast.
