Hi,

I've tested this game with friends and it went down well at a meetup over the weekend. Now it needs to be tested without me there, and feedback on the clarity of the rules would be much appreciated. PnP files ready here

You play as a character recovering artefacts from a radioactive island. Instead of weapons/armor you mutate and get freaky body parts to enhance your attacks, and the cards can be laid out to see what you look like. These are my cartoon sketches but I have an artist working on the cards.

Interesting

Unique theme and semi unique combat system. (For some reason I like the chase mechanic). In terms of play testing I have minimal time to do even anything with my games! But if I get a chance I will definitely check this out!

The game looks interesting

The game looks interesting and could be really fun, but I have a comment on one of the cards:
I may have missed something, but I feel that Chaos Theory (Reroll next dice roll regardless of results) is perfectly useless, both to the player and to the game experience.
If you reroll something in all conditions, why roll it the first time? You won't even look at the result! You could as well say "I rolled first time... now I reroll." without rolling the first time... right?

(And the Munchkin influence is quite strong in some of the cards^^ Not that it's bad, just funny.)

Choas theory

I hadn't thought of it like that, but it can make a failed roll successful or reduce the effect of a bad one

Cards on top of each other

Hey man,

I am currently working on a game which requires different cards to be placed on eachother and so I was wondering if you had any specific feedback from playtesters regarding that?

Did anyone mention anything about this or not?

I thought that you had to resolve the card effects before rolling. In that case, well, forget what I said!

Consider me interested.

I can definitely see the Munchkin inspiration in your game design, but that's hardly a bad thing. I love your creature designs, I really do. They have a strong theme that reminds me more of Earthbound than Munchkin. On the other hand, I could see the random mutations getting annoying, if only because you can't choose to keep the ones you want.

I'm interested to see a sample of those future card designs.

Well the USP

(hopefully it is) is constantly changing characters so if your stats suck they prob wont later. But everyone gets generally stronger as the game goes on. I haven't heard of Earthbound so I'll look it up, thanks.

Also working on a NSFW expansion which includes a Gimpanzee, although I currently have no idea how to draw the KY Jellyfish.....

interesting!

Looks like a very fun and unique game. I like the combat system because there is some amount of luck, but it isn't completely luck-based, and players with better stats will usually win. Just make sure to correct your spelling of artifact in the instructions :) Nice Game!
