John Q. Public Sample Card Front

Do you know John Q. Public? I am finishing off my first draft of a party game based on guessing percentages. If you like Wits and Wagers, I'm hoping you will like this game too. If you are interested in playtesting (game can be played with 2 or more players), email me at tponisci@hotmail.com or reply to this post. I will email you the rules and cards. There is a sample of the front of one card attached.

The game has five rounds, and is won by the person who can guesstimate percentages the best. The trick to it, is that the answers to all of the questions in a round will add up to 100%. The person with the lowest score at the end (taken as the absolute value of the difference between your answer and the right answer), is the winner.

Questions come from all manners of life: politics, sports, consumer related research, tv, movies, religion, etc.

So, how well do you know John Q. Public?

Can you post some more info

Can you post some more info on the game, like what the gist or goal is, maybe some images? Sell it a bit more and people will be more likely to respond...

OK I have a good idea of the game now...seems interesting, though definitely more "thinky" than W&W as players have to count their total up to 100.

The great thing about W&W is you really don't have to know much of anything, just be close...or purposefully absurdly off if you want.

Maybe show one percentage that is correct on the card, but players don't know which fact it applies to. I think giving them a place to start would be really helpful, as some may find assigning odd percentages to unusual facts a bit daunting.

The game seems interesting, but I think it could be made more fun...this feels a bit like a grade school test, where it could use more game show.

Feedback

Chris,

Thanks for the feedback! Right now, I am really looking for playtesters at this point to give me more detailed feedback off of rules, mechanics, themes, etc. Are you interested in playtesting the game?

I'd be happy to take a look at the rules and get a full grasp of the game and mechanics...rule-checking is a pretty common and incredibly helpful thing here on BGDF, so you may get a few opinions if you post them.
