Awesome Idea
I'm not sure how many people are going to read this, seeing as it's been posted since December. There were few replies to that post but positive feedback all around. I'm going to register for it.

I would be - I should have a couple more prototypes up and ready for the testing stage by April.
Although I'm in Europe so I would suffer from the postal distance unless a Euro sub group developed.
All told its a really good idea.

I think it's a wonderful idea that should especially be used to share proto between playing groups rather than individual designers.

The idea here IS to build a proto group, no? Not to segregate the players from the designers. Not only that, but the idea that I can get a group of friends at a hobby shop to burn away 5 hours on the weekend is great. Will get other players interested as well. It's a catalyst to designers and players alike who pool together (regionally) to share in the experience. Group testing may be around the corner.
Yes, it's not the most ideal situation, but eventually web groups testers and creators may join. I don't know where it's going but I'm definitely along for the ride. It's still in it's infancy, and I can account for a large majority of playtesters who are in some way game designers (in their own right) so it covers all avenues.

Testing!
I have signed up and thus far tested one game, it is fun to have them arrive in the mail and get to give constructive feedback, next game to test should be arriving next week! I highly recommend it!
