Hello Everyone,

I've been working on my card back, and I think I am finished, but I wanted some other eyes to look at it and tell me what you think. I originally had the logo on the back, but I felt like it was a little obvious, and I wanted a new piece of art for it. Let me know if anything anything seems odd or out of place, or if I should just burn the concept haha.

Best,

Can you tell us more about

Can you tell us more about the game? That way we can see how it compares to the game's theme/style?

Otherwise I really like the illustration and graphic design. It's not overly detailed, but has nice design elements (such as the colored gems, the woman's face and hair, etc).

I'm trying to picture playing a card game with some friends with that as the card back. And honestly, I like it a lot.

Great job.

Even not knowing about the

Even not knowing about the game, it looks great!

I like the symmetry, the crystal in the middle and just loved the hair curves.

I don't know if it would be better to add more texture to the metal, maybe that's too much, doesnt hurt to test though

The only thing I don't like are the colored gems, but they seem to be important to the concept, so leave them there.

Yes of course. The game is a fantasy-themed strategy card game. The style is similar to Blizzard's Warcraft games, so not overly kiddie, but not high fantasy. Basically, trying to strike that middle ground for art style. I was trying to avoid over designing the back because I'm not sure how much excessive detail shows up on the playing card size.

I can totally throw a layer of textured metal on top and see how it looks. I know Magic the Gathering has a heavily textured card back, but I wasn't quite sure how it would register in print with this detail and then a texture on top, but easy to find out :). What is it about the colored gems that bothers you? Maybe I can make some adjustments to them. They are important to the concept in the sense that the six gems represent the six playable races in the game, and the white gem is the unifying neutral race. Since I eliminated the concept of using the logo on the card back I figured I should make some reference to the races.

I don't know about the BEST

I don't know about the BEST printers. But have you considered what might happen if the cards are cut 0.5 mm off the center? I mean, the backside might be a bit too symetric if the cutting is a bit off.

Ps. That is a very nice design.

Ugh shifting

Yeah I thought about the shifting, so that flat gold color that surrounds the actual art is my shifting bleed room. It shouldn't shift enough to dig into the artwork, but yeah I agree it would look odd because of the symmetry. Not sure how to avoid shifting unless you know a good printer? I was looking into Game Crafter just for proofing reasons and maybe Print Ninja for final? They seem to be on a lot of Kickstarters.

I am sorry. But I don't know

I am sorry. But I don't know which printers are good.
But maybe you can contact some of them for their advice.
