Game Component Piecekit

Battlegrounds Gaming Engine (aka BGE) is a 2D virtual tabletop app that isn't just for playing pre-made boardgames. It's also a boardgame creation toolkit that allows game designers to create digital prototypes and digital playtest kits, without any scripting/coding, XML-editing, or the like. Use it to playtest each iteration of an ever-evolving game design with playtesters anywhere in the world.

For more information on how the software works and what features it offers, look here. Then download the free Demo and try it out.

There's also a crowdfunding campaign currently underway to develop version 2.0 of BGE. One interesting "Add-on" being offered during the campaign is a "Game Component Piecekit", which should be particularly useful to boardgame designers looking for a ready-to-go prototype-building kit. See the attached image for a full description. But note that it's intended for digital prototypes only (not for components that will be printed out).

The above-mentioned campaign

The above-mentioned campaign is currently 70% funded, and ends in 10 days. Looks like it's going to be another close finish.

This newly-announced achievement might get unlocked.

Hoping to get more people to vote in this Poll.

Congratulations ... Crowdfunding is a tough gig!

Hello fellow BGDF.com member.

I just wanted to congratulate you on your successful BackerKit campaign. We are presently on Kickstarter trying to fund "Dual Dice" (92% and 80% into the KS).

I had a question for you?! Not because I am an expert or anything. But I was wondering WHY(?) you chose BackerKit over Kickstarter for your campaign?!

I ask because I am unaware of the campaigns ran on BackerKit. I know they used to be a Pledge Manager for KS. But now it seems like they ALSO do Crowdfunding. But I am unaware of the "advantages" of BackerKit over Kickstarter...

If you would be willing to share some of your INSIGHT. That would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers.
