Where can I get these pieces

Hi,

I'm working on a prototype for a game that involves players collecting precious stones from one part of a board (green = emeralds, red = rubies and blue = sapphires) and then transporting them using other pieces to other parts of the board.

I have got most of the pieces apart from the gems themselves. The challenge that I now face is that I need to be able to have them large enough so that they aren't too fiddly when players pick them up and count them, but also small enough so that up to six can be transported at once.

I have come to the conclusion that the best way to do this is to have pieces that are a little like coloured polos / rings, so that the pieces that are transporting them can slot them onto of a vertical rod. Ideally they should be of a 'gem like' quality, but this isn't really necessary - although they will need to at least be different colours. The size would be approx 1cm diameter and not more than 2-3 mm tall - maybe less.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where I could get something like this?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Gem Pieces

Would painted washers work? You can get them in a variety of sizes, and at any hardware store. All you would have to do is find some really awesome paint.
