I mean that Wits and Wagers go very lucky getting TV show deal right?

Extremely rarely does a publisher purchase a game of any kind outright.
I would wager it's about 99.99999% of the time a Royalties agreement in the 4-10% of gross sales (with the wide range in percentage based on any number of factors, from designer name recognition to game style and more), and sometimes with a small advance on royalties.
