I apologize if this has already been shared here. I ran across this tool and thought it might be interesting to this group. You can get pre-orders. I suspect it is less overhead when compared to kick starter.

While this seems a great tool, it does not do anything for actual funding except allow for a pre-order system for a product. It's more a part of Kickstarter expanded instead of an alternative to Kickstarter.
But if you read my posts, I'm not a fan of Kickstarter myself...at least not for me now. I think it's a viable way to get money, but I think way too many people do it pre-maturely because they don't know all that's involved with a Kickstarter campaign.
Well yeah, it only does pre-orders *but* that does mean their cut of the pie is far smaller. If you are able to do the promotional work yourself, this makes it easier to get the level of funding needed to self pub a game.
